Gaming Journalism has been getting fucked in the ass recently.

The idea of gaming journalism, at least on the interwebz, is laughable.

Most sites are simply copying the same rumours from each other, with barely any actual hard news. It's all about who can come up with the funniest headline and the best caption for a picture to go along with it.

Gaming "journalism" has less integrity than the Weekly World News. Or Fox.

That said, I did like their podcasts, and that huge chunk of people didn't deserve to be laid off.

I was reading the editors' blogs over at 1up, and wow, so sad. I guess at least I should be glad their new parent company isn't forcing them to keep their mouths shut about it.

I like 1up's coverage, so I hope it isn't affected by the change up in the way that Gamespot's was.

This kinda ticks me off, and not even because of 1up or EGM, it's mainly because Ziff Davis a decade ago was great, they had good content (see Tech TV) had a great name and brand in the internet world....and now because of shoddy leadership they've been a sinking ship for the better part of two years.

For the old skool "Screensavers" fans: Patrick Norton told you so. He left DL.tv a while back because of the stench coming from the ZD executive offices and now a lot of great people have lost their jobs.

Really frustrating and really unfortunate.

Patrick Norton and Leo Laporte were the best hosts ever.  I missed that show a lot when they left.

They can bring back EGM all they want, but without the writing staff that made it good...  It's meh.

It's like a pepperoni and bacon pizza.  If you get one with salami and ham, it's not gonna be the same.
