Noticed there wasn't any news on the site, let alone a topic, so I figured I'd post one.
GameSpot's page for it.
Looks like it'll be pretty damn good, albit a lot different from the first two. Anyone else planning to pick it up?

I thought this was supposed to be a platformer...Anyways, I'll be getting this, regardless since I loved the first 2 games.

I see numbers in the trailer when Mario jumps on enemies and it's the third in a line of Mario RPGs. I figure that, at the least, this probably will count as much as the Castleroids do. Maybe moreso. :P

Man, there have been so many RPG-related Mario games lately, if you include the RPGs on the GBA and DS. This looks fun. More Bowser playability. They've been really using him as a playable character, as of lately. Same goes for Peach. Interesting that you're able to switch off characters at will, while progressing through the levels. That reminds me of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and I imagine Partners in Time for the DS, since I haven't played it yet.

It says it is a platformer in the article...
Anyway, wow, lots of side-scrolling Mario love! I am all for this game.

It says it's a role playing game in Gamespot's categorization, yet it also says it's a platformer. And it looks like a platformer. Therefore, till I see otherwise, it's a platformer in my mind...and this topic is getting a punt. :P
And on a completely different note, the word Castleroids gave me an assache.

Looking at a few of the pictures, this looks really cool. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.

Well... I imagine there's still a significant amount of RPG in it given how there seem to be hitpoints and towns, but it'll be clear one way or another upon release. There's the fact sheet on that spot too if you wanna see how Nintendo's describing it. :P
I forget/never found out what the deal was with the numbers. But I like how trippy it's looking to be.

Looks like it'll be an awesome mix of 2D and 3D platforming.

IGN hands-on preview.
Sounds more like a platformer, but then I've heard that there's items, and there /might be/ EXP, and... Damn, I don't know what to make of this game. I think that's half the reason I'm as interested as I am, it's looking very /different/. :P
