Game franchise

I got my PlayStation 2 for Final Fantasy X back in the day. And little did I know that I'd get so many more RPGs for it.

I also got a PS2 for FFX, but I went halfsies with my sister on em, we got it a month before FFX came out and picked up Shadow Hearts on impulse, hadn't ever heard of it. That worked out pretty well.
 
 Also, I buy pretty much every Zelda & whatever console it comes out for.

I pretty much do that too with Zelda titles. Wind Waker was one of the reasons why I bought the GameCube, Twilight Princess was one of the reasons why I got the Wii, etc.

Yeah, I gotsta have my Zelda! I've only missed out on Link's Awakening so far.   :( One day...

 I haven't had a reason to yet, but I'd also buy a system solely for a Suikoden installment. Guess I'm a total sucker for FF, Zelda & Suikoden. :P

MGS4 is really pulling at me to get a PS3. I won't even consider it until it gets down to $300 or lower, though.
If FFXIII wasn't coming out for the 360 I would buy the PS3 to get it, factoring in the above statement.

A new Skies or a new "real" Phantasy Star might be able to single-handedly convince me to buy a system.
I guess I'm just easy.

In a word... no. The only game that I think even came close was FF13 for the PS3, and I wouldn't have bought the PS3 for that if it wasn't for the added utility of Blu-Ray, PS2 BC, Valkyria Chronicles, and Disgaea.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is tempting me for a 360, but I have this "Last Hope" that it might port to PS3. Tales of Vesperia also tempts me, but that PS3 rumour is making me lose that temptation. Not to mention that there are upcoming games I want that are stopping me from purchasing a 360.

I somehow always end up with all the consoles anyway, at some point. So I wouldn't say it's for any particular franchise, really. :P

Though, if there were a new SMT, Fatal Frame, or Grandia game to come out for PS3 or something, it probably would push me to get one sooner than I expected to. >.>

Not an RPG, but I DID by a Jaguar just to play... nah, too easy. Not going there.

In all seriousness, I'm not buying a new console till they get down to around 100 dollars or whatever. In the PAST, I went playstation, because the N64 didn't have much in terms of RPGs in general and the Gamecube didn't get some till later on (Granted, I... bought a Gamecube. Looking back, I'm not really sure why, even though I like it rather much. My first game for that was Animal Crossing and no idea what else I got ever that. Probably Skies of Arcadia or something).

I bought my xbox360 for Lost Odyssey. I am very happy with that purchase since there are so many RPGs on that system now.
