MMORPG's: The all consuming beast.

While being recently interviewed by a mate for a peice in a local paper on the addictive qualities of MMO's I was put alot of questions that make you consider your participation in these online worlds, like are they viable? or do we all spend too muc time playing MMORPG's. I know alot of RPGfaner's play various assortments of online games, most of us sitting in the WoW/FFXI category and for the most part of the last 3-4 years I have been a sole MMO gamer.

Amongst other things I suppose my participation in MMO's has deprieved my normal Game obsession, I used to be a feak console player, buying 2-3  games a month. The last Game I bought was World of Warcraft, some year and a half ago, Well besides Oblivion actually sorry. The question is I suppose when someone actually confronts you and asks you various questions about your MMO habit is: Are you ok with it?, well I am...for now. I have done alot of things in my life, currently closing in on the grand old age of 24 I feel like the possibilties to explore new avenues of interest are also open to the like minded, if we choose to spend 6 years of our lives in a virtual world then what the hell. Why not? life is for the experience right?

You're going to waste your life doing something.  If MMOs are fun to you, why not spend time there?  That's my philosophy, at any rate. :P  As long as you don't get addicted to the point that you neglect your real life, the vice is the same as any other...and in ways MMOs are better than some (like single player RPGs) because they call on you to develop teamwork and the like.  If you can survive a horrible PUG, you can work in any team project. ;)
