I'm actually a little surprised. I guess they'll have to tone down the technical stuff like Capcom is doing for Dead Rising. It will still be interesting to see if the Wiimote makes the game better like it did for RE4 (I know some people didn't like RE4 Wii Edition, but they are crazy nutters :P )

RE4 Wii's criticisms boil down more to personal preference than genuine fuck ups on Capcom's part. Making the game too easy probably says more about how good the control scheme is than anything else really.

Anyways, I didn't really expect this. I'm curious to see how it turns out, though I'd rather whole new games be focused on. Then again they've brought out stuff like Boom Blox so they're already ahead of most developers in that regard.

Actually, arguably that'd be a good thing in this case since, unlike Dead Rising, Dead Space is similar to RE4, just incorporating Gears controls (and better than RE5 did at that).

Yeah but, just like Dead Rising for the Wii, i have my doubts about how the game will look.

It's not going to be pretty, I can pretty much guarantee that.

Hopefully it will look as good as RE4 which IMO is about as good as any game needs to look.

In any case, the biggest reason that Dead Rising looks so "bad"(I don't think it looks terrible, it's an obvious step down in quality but it's not UNPLAYABLE bad like most PS1-era games) is because the game has to display SO MANY THINGS all at once, and the Wii's processor just isn't built to handle the load.  Dead Space isn't about massive amount of enemies attacking at once, it's about fairly powerful single enemies jumping at you from wherever.  I think the largest number of enemies I saw at once on my playthrough was 3-4.

So the graphics will obviously take a hit, but if the developer actually cares (Which EA claims to now), the game can still look fantastic if it wants to.

It should in fact look a bit better than RE4, considering that the Wii has more capabilities than the GameCube. :P

Difference was Dead Rising sucked to begin with, Dead Space did not.

LOL I knew you would say that because I remember our argument from awhile ago. I don't mind that you like the game, I just didn't.

It's a rail shooter. 'Cause the Wii sure doesn't have enough rail shooters.

What a wasted opportunity. Admittedly a straight downport would have been boring, and they are on the right path here, but they could've taken notes from RE4 Wii then tried to one up it using the Gears improvements Dead Space has. Especially since the new story means the game can be better made for the platform rather than just being a compromised version of the original.

That's junk. I wasn't fond of Umbrella Chronicles and would have liked all the improvements and such Eusis mentioned. Bummer.
