Favorite game that reviews/people hated

I'm talking the majority.
Stuff like Legend of Mana, SaGa Frontier II, Wild ARMs' , and the blacksheep, Tales of Legendia.  Then you got your others like some other games in the SaGa series (Unlimited, and Romacing, both of which I thought sucked but -some- feel otherwise ;P).  Or Drakengard, or Legend of Dragoon, hell, anything!

Sigma Star Saga.  Of all the press reviews that game got, my review on this site was easily the most favorable.  I thought that game was quite good.

I honestly still load up Legend of Mana from time.  I absolutely love the artwork and the music.  The no future mode makes multiplayer really fun.  I love the different stories too.

Hm. Final Fantasy VIII, I guess. People always hate on it, but I think it's great. The same goes for FF V.

Soukaigi, Parasite Eve and Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Boese. Soukaigi was not reviewed by a lot of sites, but GameSpot for instance just trashed the game. Sure, it had its obvious flaws, but I still think it was a solid, if sometimes frustrating game. Parasite Eve still ranks as one of my alltime favorite games, despite people complaining about its lack of length and it supposedly being too linear. As for Xenosaga, we have already discussed that topic a dozen times.

As for the games everybody else likes, but I can't stand, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Star Ocean Second Story come to mind. The latter's battle system was too action-oriented for my admittingly special taste and both the characters and the story did not strike me as interesting or special. With Lunar, the story did bore me, the translation was kinda odd and the battle system was even more annoying than Star Ocean's.

Shadowgate 64

Nothing extraordinary of course, but I liked very much the serene atmosphere of the game. The quest was pleasant too.

Final Fantasy VIII (my favourite game)
FFX-2 - While it was nothing massively special, I found it really, really fun to play, and I had an absolute blast.
Drakengard - I can really see why most didn't like it, but the repetition never bored me. And the story was really, really good. I think that's what kept me going.

Shining Tears. Everyone hated it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Predictable story and all, but still fun.
