Favorite game that reviews/people hated

Hm. Final Fantasy VIII, I guess. People always hate on it, but I think it's great. The same goes for FF V.

I liked Vay as well.

My choice goes to Deadly Towers, however it was recieved well when it came out.  The majority of the bashing this game recieved happened after seanbaby started in on it.  I figure he had never played the game until years after it came out and bashed it because it offered up too much challenge and made him sweat the Kool-aid out of his bad haircut.

Best game ever? heck no, worst game ever? hell no. Consider other games of its time, and it was damned solid.

Final Fantasy VIII, which is also my favorite game in the series.  In fact I'm playing it right now and I'm almost done with it after about 5 days.  I can understand why it's the most hated game in the series, but it's mainly for many of those reasons that I love the game so much.

Oh, I have so many RPGs that I love that a lot of people hated:

-Legaia 2: Duel Saga (first one was generally liked)
-Jade Cocoon 2  (first one was generally liked)
-Unlimited Saga
-Chocobo's Dungeon 2
-Car Battler Joe
-Musashi Samurai Legend
-Digimon World
-Legend of Mana
-Lagoon

Just to name a few. :D

Wait, people disliked Car Battler Joe?  I know that game was far from popular and, like, no one played but the few people who did play it, liked it.  Flawed game, but a lot of fun.  

And I thought Legaia 2 and Jade Cocoon 2 were better received than their prequels.  The reviews were more positive for the sequels than the first games.

Everywhere I go, people always bash Car Battler Joe and JC2 and Legaia 2.  I am going by what people I know think, and not professional reviews, seeing how I trust the people I know a lot more.  And I know a lot of RPGamers, and they tend to hate all of the games I mentioned above.  They may not be underrated to you, but they certainly are to me (and yes, I know the difference between overlooked and underrated).
