If one day I see an opening like that for Shin Megami Tensei I'm going to have a heart attack, or epilepsy.

Either way the opening is fine as it is. It shows what's new rather what the story of the game is about like the orignal for the PS2 did.

I like the new opening theme better, but the entire first half with the dancing just turns me away.

True enough, but a powerful opening can stick with you more thoroughly than the game itself.  Chrono Cross comes to mind.

You know, the opening seems like it was made by a random guy and uploaded the thing on Nico Nico Douga. If you show me the video without telling me that is the real opening for the game I would not believe it at first.

But then I remembered those openings for the Persona games on PSP... I'm not saying that are bad but they kinda miss the point of the game itself.

I misread Mayonaka Arena as Mayonnaise Arena.

Hate is a strong word, but the original was definitely superior. This says nothing about the game's tone, just wacky hijinks.

The original arguably had better animation too.

I don't even watch them anymore.  I would rather go into the game knowing as little as possible and figure everything out via playing the game.

The opening was kind of like Persona 4 and Katamari Damancy had wild sex and produced something truly frightening.

...Count me as one of the people who will quickly hit the start button once she gets this.
