Doesn't really bother me if the new opening is garbage because I never watch them anyway. I like to get straight to the game.

You no like trashcan Yosuke dance? Chie had the stupidest dance. Kanji the worst animated. I think I would have liked the dance more if it was better animated as a whole... but it's pretty bare bones, and the character dancing to much like sticks without really good fluid dancing moves.

Teddy is only the one that gets some decent dance moves, but I wonder, how different the opening would be if KyoAni made it instead of Madhouse.
Still, is pretty shocking going back and seeing the opening for the first Persona on PSone and then the one for P4: Golden.

I've never really gotten into Megami Tensei, but I'm interesting in trying it out since I'm almost done with my current slate of gaming projects. I have access to play any Persona game other than 4 (1 and 2IS would be PSP, the others would be PS2), or I could try Devil Survivor on the DS or Nocturne on the PS2. What do you guys recommend I try out?

Either Digital Devil Saga or Persona 3 are a good start, after that go for Nocturne and every other title that might interest you. Also there's a huge article thingy in Hardcore Gaming 101 if you want to read about the series: http://hg101.kontek.net/megaten/megaten.htm

Alrighty. I received a copy of Persona 3 FES as a gift some time ago. Looks like I'll be starting it up soon.

I'm tasked with updating that, and I still have a bit of work to do... namely Devil Survivor 2 and P2 PSP(also P4G and Arena).
A tall task indeed friend.... I give you grande' credit for it though.... and if you are in fact one of the authors I give you mucho-grande-credit!
