Very nice interview. Gives me lots of cause for optimism regarding SMTIV.

"Social gaming will play a major part in Atlus and Index's future. We can expect Shin Megamitensei and Etrian Odyssey social developments this summer."

This does not. See the current thread about LOZ.

They never seem to really apply for over here, the social side to games. I can see it working in Japan where the market isn't as niche, but I'm lucky if I find anyone trade pokemon with these days never mind a Megami Tensei game.

Or have I misunderstood the social aspect.

Let's not ring the death knell on this just yet; Japanese games have been pretty good about making that social nonsense not be required for full enjoyment of their games.

Hopefully this just means SMT and EO Facebook Games or something, and not a bunch of goofy stuff messing with their main products.

Persona 3 Film adaptation confirmed

So let me get this straight. We are getting a movie about modern day Jesus Christ dying for our sins with tons of fanservice.

That's... cool I guess. ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ dunno

Pretty sure it is. That's his real name, he goes by the alias 'Spooky'.

So uh, P4G added a ridiculous amount of content to the name, not just scooters and a snow trip.

-A new social link for... Adachi?
-Terrifying amount of new costumes, i.e. sentai and Velvet outfits
-New music for key boss fights, i.e. 8bit 'I'll Face Myself' for Mitsuo
-Concert footage from P4Live!
-Etc.

It's kind of overwhelming. I almost want it now.

Jack Frost goes Rambo for Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers

Also you like hentai right? Because the new demon has tentacles. So that's cool.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Maniacs Director returns for Shin Megami Tensei IV

"The website also has an ominous tune, perhaps a track from Shin Megami Tensei IV's soundtrack." -- http://megaten4.jp/

It sounds familiar.

Anyone here that has played any version of Soul Hackers can tell me how is the encounter rate, at least in the respective version of the game?

I'm excited for this game but when I look back at Persona 1 and Persona 2 IS those high encounters rate just make me wanna quit it. For P2:IS I at least played more than half the game and if I keep pushing I'm sure I can go further because at least with difficulty settings in easy mode I can just auto-battle my way through but I couldn't manage to even think about trying to finish P1. Even Strange Journey with its obtuse dungeons doesn't have battles that last so long.

I have faith Atlus will make some adjustments to cater this game to a wider audience, with so many demons being added I can't imagine an easy setting would be much to expect, at least for a re-release. As for SMT4, that I expect to be tough as nails as we've come to expect from Atlus.

When I played Revelations: Persona a decade ago I thought it wasn't very good.  Now that I fuckin' love Persona 3 I'm curious about the recent PSP Persona games.  Can anyone honestly recommend them, or should I just stick to the new class of more recent SMT games?
