I gotta tell you that it will probably save that much time for real! This second time I finished the game about 20 hours faster than my first time playing. Sure I already knew my way around the game, but still, no more minutes and minutes wasted trying to get the "best"persona in each fusion.

Thanks for you all of your suggestions, I think in the end I'm going to get Nocturne first, I like my games challenging (and borderline frustrating), especially RPG's. Just something that I'll have to really sink my teeth into in order to beat. Also, being a man sounds like fun.

So uh, the clamoring for Eternal Punishment (PSP) is finally starting to get audible. Will it make a difference, or will Atlus USA still thrive on our tears(and Persona 4 cash)?
(EOIV was announced after EP, and it was confirmed for the US.)

Now I don't want to finish IS... if its so incomplete without EP. I guess I willl be at Characol forever now. Aw screw it, I've been putting it off, time for some crunch time.

It isn't incomplete. The two games are parallels with each other.

It's... complicated. Still, if you can track down the PS1 copy then just go with that.

Time to go pawn shop hunting. Well first I better actually BEAT IS, but just wait as soon as I plop down 80 bucks for EP, the localization for PSP is announced.

No they don't, actually. EP picks up exactly where IS leaves off. I would hope the PSP version gets localized, since the current localization tried to make the best of Revelations: Persona's clunky localization and there is carryover save data.

You go through the same events, with different outcomes, it parallels. I'm aware of when and where the game takes place, but IS is self-contained up until the very end where the two games become linked.
I was trying to convey that he isn't going to be left unfulfilled with IS just because EP exists. I didn't want to get caught up in the semantics with someone who hasn't played them.

Well I think just knowing the that EP exists is going to leave me unfulfilled. Knowing that there is more story too see. More time with the characters and their AWESOME designs. Sure the story probably wraps up nicely in IS, but knowing that your only seeing half of the story, is what makes it not very fulfilling.

IS can exist on its own, EP kind of takes it and adds to it.
Sort of like Terminator 1 to Terminator 2.

And even that isn't the best fit, as Terminator 2's more "you can enjoy this without watching Terminator 1, but it'd help to watch first" versus, uhh, what P2 does which can actually make playing EP first a notably unique experience.

See, I don't think IS can exist on its own because the ending is a cliffhanger. EP picks up right from that cliffhanger point.
IS/EP is like DDS 1 and 2.

IS/EP is like DDS 1 and 2.
You could take the ending to see it as,
Code:
they were all reborn, and everyone had another chance to meet again. EP screws that up, of course, but I could see someone getting by with just IS, even if I don't recommend it.
ADMIN EDIT: The game may be old, but be mindful of spoilers!
