Megaten games? Grinding? WHAT??!?!
I always have to grind in Megaten games, but it's not bad compared to other games. I usually know what strategy to use to defeat a boss, but it's no help when your characters are as weak as shit and can't take any hits or do very little damage despite exploiting weaknesses and using buffs/debuffs.
I do realize that Megaten veterans don't usually grind for levels but I assume you need to at least grind for something, unless you have a playthrough already perfectly planned.
Let's say you are going to fight a boss in a megaten game. You can either be at a much higher level than the boss, have demons/personas with defenses to the boss' attack or a mix of both (and maybe something else I might've forgot).
To have the right demons you need to get them, but sometimes just fusing the ones you already have are not enough but you need macca to buy new demons to keep fusing until you get what you want.
Long story short, I'm either grinding for demons, macca, level or all three.
I've talked here about how the boss Matador in Nocturne gave me the lesson of my life. I do realize it doesn't need to be that hard if you play really smart but I gotta say, it isn't as easy as some people make it out to be.
I do have to say that after being beat to a pulp in a lot of megaten games I've been learning, my second run through P4 (P4 Golden) was so much easier than the first one, in Devil Survivor 2 I can go through must without having to grind.
