YAY! We may or may not get Persona 5 information in the near future!

My guess - we get some kind of teaser at TGS in September, then a 2014 release date.  This is my very, very hopeful guess.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect anything solid in the information department until TGS.

Atlus parent company registers Persona5.jp -- Source: Gematsu

Not sure why they're saying "long awaited sequel". I doubt Persona 5 will be a sequel to any game in the series.

Eh.  Every game after Persona 1 has characters from prior games in it, at least in passing.  They aren't direct sequels, but they're iterations in the same franchise that take place in the same world.  I don't mind the semantics of "sequel" in this case.

Fixed.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Final Fantasy games are still referred to as 'sequels' and they have far less to do with each other than the Persona games do.

Plus there is a good chance imo that Persona 5 will continue or at least touch upon plot elements introduced in Persona 4 Arena.

Possibly noteworthy: There's a "Persona Music Fes" event happening on August 13th.  Maaaybe they could have some kind of Persona 5 reveal then?  It'll definitely be on people's minds.

I wonder if the game will have the same graphics as Catherine. I surely love that style I just hope they don't drop the 2D artwork when the character have their reactions. In a small comparison, it's like Atelier Ayesha which dropped their 2D artwrok. Sure it's a natural progression if the company whats to make better 3D models but their artwork is so beautiful it would be a shame not to have anymore.

Maybe it will depend on the tone of the game. Looking back Nocturne and DDS didn't have 2D art and it doesn't seem like people missed them but again, you don't have a bunch of scenes of the characters just having fun in them.

Have you guys seen the new promotion at Club Nintendo?
Apparently if we own both Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem Awakening, and register them in the Nintendo Club, we get a $30 bonus to our account! I'll put the link here in case anyone has any questions

I'm glad as my Fire Emblem arrived last month and I already got SMTIV on pre-order. I just hope it doesn't take long to arrive as we have only until August 31st to receive the bonus.

As if we needed any reason to get STMIV at launch...
