The roster is pretty small with only 3 characters.

What makes you think those are going to be the only characters?

The fact that I don't buy DLC (on consoles).
That you think all but three characters is DLC is a really loaded statement to make based on one teaser trailer.

Persona Q is being lead by the director(or is it producer?) of the Etrian Odyssey series and we know it's a dungeon crawler. I thought more about this. It's possible the game will have non-random dungeons now! Just that possibility makes me excited. Thinking further, we could even get some sort of integration of a skill system similar to the the Etrian Odyssey series. Maybe your Persona will have skill trees now that we can level up! The possibilities are making me giddy.

I've never liked skill tree systems that are so limited you have to plan your character build carefully or else completely gimp your character. It's why I never really got very far in any of the Etrian Odyssey games.

I prefer to call it a divining into the future ;)
If I'm wrong, I don't mind getting called out on it.

I've never liked skill tree systems that are so limited you have to plan your character build carefully or else completely gimp your character. It's why I never really got very far in any of the Etrian Odyssey games.

This is why they implement rest options to completely reset your character if you don't like where it's going. The penalty in the most recent games is only a couple levels lost.

There are plenty of options to choose from and ways to build your characters that there is never any wrong way to choose. You can't possibly "gimp" your character unless you're putting in 1 or 2 points into everything, thus not getting the full benefits of leveling up your skills. The main rule of thumb is that whatever you invest in,make sure you see it through to the end, or at least half way. And with the recently added difficulty levels, if you play on easy or normal, you can't possibly lose even if your build isn't exactly "perfect".

There's being cynical and then there's being ridiculous.  How many announcement trailers have shown off all the features of any game?

Yeah, and Pokemon X and Y only had 20 Pokemon in the entire game.

Are you for real.

Didn't they resuse Nocturne like three times while Persona 3 got FES a year later?

Is the main issue with Q, the way the characters look? Can't say I am a fan of the designs but the rest looks pretty cool. I am a huge fan of Dungeon Crawlers so I am pretty stoked for this.

Nocturne had the vanilla release, the Amala dungeon disc (which we got included) and then it got re-released a few years later with Raidou instead of Dante.

One re-release, so not quite as bad.

And Q, as Dice said, just looks like a cheap cash in.
I avoid online multiplayer because my brain still works.

Eh, cash in or not, I find it to be interesting. At worst it'll be a mildly boring diversion. At best it'll be a good game. Cash ins pay for their other projects, so I'm not complaining.

Reminds me of the quote from Michael Caine when he was asked what he thought of the movie Jaws: The Revenge, which he was in:

"I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

No need to get all prissy and defensive guys. It's just a stupid thing I'm calling for the sake of it.
Can't play a bit of lighthearted devil's advocate in here... sheesh...

If I was cynical, I wouldn't have said that the game looks ok, but a bit uninspired and that the musical choice may be it's strongest asset.

Oh come on now, all I want is for them to milk P3 and P4 less and have a little more original output like they used to during the PS2 days.

Sure I agree with that. Though, later you're gonna want them to stop milking P5. :P
