My wife plays games on occasion. She loves Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy. Back in the day she was a big fan of Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle. It is something she'll do if nothing else is pressing. She bought me both the original X-Box and the 360. I've never heard a single grumble about my game-playing. Then again, gaming isn't even my #1 hobby(That would be gardening). I couldn't be with someone who would mock my interests.
Mutual respect and all that.

Rarely do you find girls who like games that aren't psychos or uggos, though. A lot of the time they're both, especially the ones you find online.

You can honestly say the same thing about guys.

Nobody wants to be with someone who's going to cut down a hobby or interest of theirs that forges their identity.  I remember reading an interview in Bass Player magazine with seminal funk bassist George Porter Jr.  He recalled a story when an ex sawed his P-bass in half to try and get him to retire from the music biz.  (The joke was kinda on her since she only sawed up the body, leaving the neck in tact.  So George just unbolted the neck and put it on another P-bass body.)  A girl doesn't have to be as into cycling, bass, and/or gaming as I am (I'd be kinda bored dating myself), but I certainly would not want someone who'll take a hacksaw to my bicycle, a chainsaw to my bass, and/or a blowtorch to my games.

Hypothetical: Let's say I found a girl who's into the same kinds of games that I am but was extremely grouchy in the mornings.  She would likely not be too pleasant when my alarm clock goes off at 5:30 AM and I jump out of bed, chipper as a lark, to go off on a morning bicycle ride.  How do you work that one out?  (There's obviously no universal answer.  But that's relationships for you.)

As for the uggo and psycho thing, I think our photo thread speaks for itself.

Dude, I think almost everyone would not find it pleasant to be awakened at 5:30 am. Unless of course, they also need to do something at that hour.

Some of us do go to work that bloody early, unfortunately.  The problem becomes when you wish you could wake up that LATE!  :P

Seeing as I am most certainly NOT a morning person, I'd totally sympathize with my girl if she had issues with that.

there's no reason to want to have a girlfriend thats as obsessed with video games generally or rpgs specifically as you are. Let me enumerate better uses for a woman's time than occupying you're console:

1) going for a run
2) cooking you dinner
3) doing your laundry
4) not talking

I could go on. Suffice to say, leave the rpgs to us men. Its men's work.

Me: Damn, this shadow is owning me with its ice attacks"
My wife: "Just go fuse a jack frost, duuuhhh."

I got my girlfriend into MegaTen. She's better at Nocturne than I am. This is a wonderful thing.

I never really set out to be with a girl who likes games, I just got lucky in that regard. It's important to have at least some separate hobbies anyway.

That's...a lot of effort for a joke account. Ironically I think someone that puts that much time into a joke account might just be perfect for the OP.

And the joke is most certainly on all of us since we all got clowned by a joke that wasn't even funny to begin with.  I easily have the most egg on my face since I actually tried to salvage meaningful discussions about relationships out of a lame joke that Fozzie Bear wouldn't even touch.

No doubt, no doubt.
I'm pretty sure rpgmike created RPGs.  I mean, it's in his name.
