Kotaku news article

A new Fallout game has been announced, and apparently, it is neither a sequel to Fallout 3 nor a spin-off, but another game in the Fallout universe. Judging from the title, it seems it'll take place in Las Vegas. And it'll play the same way Fallout 3 does. This is great news.

Should be awesome, especially given that Obsidian probably aren't the prudes that Bethesda designers (apparently) are.

Shouldn't this be in the computer RPGs section? I know it's being released on consoles too but Fallout is first and foremost a PC RPG.

For those who aren't aware some of the developers at Obsidian worked on Fallout 2.

Judging by sales figures, it most certainly belongs in the console section. :) Time to face the facts: they're not "first and foremost" PC RPGs anymore.

Taking place in Vegas?  I can't wait to see how this will pan out...think of all the possibilities.  This news makes me happy, definitely good news for a Monday :-P

This just winds up as more support that the forums should be merged into a single RPG forum. I've been trying to keep the PC section relevant by throwing games like this there, but if that's smacked away by citing sales then what the hell CAN go there?

Because many of the people who worked on the original two are there.

I agree with Eusis, they should be merged. The computer RPG forum is mostly dead apart from indie RPGs, and most games are multiplatform these days anyway.

Ah, I hadn't considered putting this in the computer RPG forum, but yeah, I third the sentiment to merge the forums.

And as for the game, the possibilities are endless of what to expect in the land of Las Vegas; Dead Rising 2 comes to mind, because it looks like it'll take place in a similar setting.

Awesome, can't wait to hear what they have in store for it. I wonder if it'll implement the increased level cap included in the DLC or if it'll stick to just 20 lvls.

I ignored Fallout 3, but since Obsidian is working on this I might check it out. They're the one Western RPG developer that hasn't let me down yet.
