Dragon Force II

I have recently been presented with the opportunity to acquire Dragon Force II. As many of you will know, this title is completely Japanese. As some of you may know my knowledge of the Japanese language is practically zero.

My question is, if I've played the original DF to death (by which I mean I've finished all eight scenarios several times), will I get a lot out of DFII?

It wouldn't be the first time I've played through an RPG in Japanese, I've completed the Japanese elements of Shining Force III. SFIII had the distinct advantage of having an identical menu system to all of it's predecessors, and all of the playable characters from scn 1 appeared in scns 2 & 3 and the Premium Disk with their names in English.
