Wow, it's even worse than I thought! No wonder they didn't include the same sections in both demos, they were only showing you the best (!) parts...

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-bayonetta-faceoff?page=1

Watch the second video, the difference in frame rate between the 2 versions is unbelievable, it's actually less than half most of the time. The 360 versions manages to stay at 60 fps most of the time while the PS3 version actually drops to 20!!!
And those pictures comparing texture quality... what a joke.

Yep, it's that bad. Though, you only notice frame rate problems during that same falling clock tower level and the ending levels of visual insanity. The loading is the most obvious and most annoying problem with the PS3 version. I consider myself to be pretty tolerant of long loading times, but these were too long. However, I did not know that the textures were that much better on the 360. I never thought the game looked ugly on the PS3, but now I know that it just looks plain better on the 360. I also did feel as if the game was a bit blurry in my play through. Sega really needs to get their shit together for the US launch, though I doubt they'll do much. Well, this just made me more excited that I'll be getting a much better version of the game soon.

I still don't care that other spout dirt at the game because of the existent minor issues and loading. It's so much fun that I can't bring myself to stop playing chapters over and over and actually play it on hard or unlock other goodies. People are seriously forgetting to value what really matters in a game and that makes me feel sorry for some.

I wouldn't be too quick to call it minor, this sounds like the kind of FPS gulf there is between, say, the N64 Zeldas and Devil May Cry and God of War on the PS2, and whiel I could live with 20 FPS I'd much rather go for the smoother alternative when available. With that said, I'm not sure many people are going to pass up the PS3 version either if it's their only option, it's just that much more reason for people with both platforms to stick to the 360 version and not even consider the PS3 one.

Did you even read my post?... I am already playing the game and not commenting without knowing the matter at hand, and yes, I find those problems minor since there are other things in the game that need my attention.

Oh, I know, but you might be underestimating how much this will get to some people, and also whether people are seriously going to skip over the FPS issue or are just annoyed that the two versions aren't closer to equal.

I get what you say but the fact is I don't care what other people will think about the game or how well is it received. In a world where MW2 sells like crazy and Okami drops like a bomb, I've lost all hope.

Trying the demos of both versions it really does show. The PS3 version isn't washed out compared to the 360 version, and while the FPS is noticeably lower I swear the PS3 version stays above 30 FPS, albit without V-Sync. Hell, I think it might actually flow better with cutscenes since they seem to run at a locked 30 FPS, which I didn't really notice when playing the PS3 demo. If you have both systems it'd still be silly to go with the PS3 version, but now it's more than just adequate.

You do mean it'd be silly to go with the PS3 version, right?

That's what I assumed he meant as well...

Anyway, JESUS CHRIST! That demo is friggin' GREAT.  It's the most visceral fun I've had with a game in quite some time...and it's just a demo.  This is a day one purchase for sure. I can't find even one thing to gripe about at all, everything is perfect.

Yes actually, if you have both systems then there isn't much of a reason to go with the PS3 version unless you vastly preferred the controller or there's a heavy discount for that version. It's still good enough though that skipping on it or waiting to get a 360 for it is even more ridiculous.

Yeah, the 360 is hands down the better version. This fact isn't readily apparent with the PS3 version by itself, you can only tell with the slow down that occurs in a few levels. I was just confused because you said 360 rather than PS3 in your previous post.

Son of a bitch... yeah, that's a typo, sorry about that.

So yeah, IGN gave it a 9.5 on the 360 and something like 8.2 on the PS3.  It's really too bad that those guys are getting the shaft on this one.  I'm glad I have both consoles cuz I'm buying this one on release. The game obviously kicks serious ass. Darksiders will have to wait.
