I'm looking for an RPG to play on the DS at college for next semester. I don't have enough time to do anything for long, so it would be nice to enjoy some 30 minute RPG gaming until my next class. Any recommendations for this hopeful chap?

Restrictions
- No Final Fantasy games or Chrono Trigger
- No Strategy RPG, I have enough on standby

Other than that... I'm pretty open to anything. Thanks for reading and hopefully replying. :)

The World Ends With You and the Dragon Quest remakes, easily. They can be enjoyed in fairly short bursts, though The World End With You can have dialogue that drags a bit, but it's easier to pick back up from that than something like a battle.

Dawn of Mana
Suikoden Tierkreis
Pokemon counts as an RPG
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time - A Luigi-Mario RPG game, it's an easy to understand RPG and you travel through time
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (although not out yet, probably in 2 months, it's an RPG)

Devil Survivor is an SRPG.

But he should play it anyway.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.  It's basically Dragon Quest: Pokemon style and for what its worth, I enjoyed it drastically more than the recent Pokemon games.

I'll second The World Ends With You.

It's pretty cool from what I've played of it so far.

TWEWYTWEWYTWEWYTWEWY

and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time! Just recently finished up that one and it's a short and sweet game with fun gameplay mechanics.

Custom Robo Arena. An overlooked gem.

Also Rune Factory, Izuna, and Etrian Odyssey.

Yeah, you can play the Izuna games in short intervals no problem.  I second Izuna.

Sounds to me like Izuna 2's better, and probably easier to find anyway. As for roguelikes though, I've only played Shiren but it's pretty good, and shouldn't be too hard to find cheap these days.

Yeah, Izuna 2 is wayy better.  In every way I think.  Unless you like going solo.  Then Izuna 1 is for you.
I've always wanted to play Shiren...

Even though I'd reccomend TWEWY a hundred times over, it really isn't something that should be played for 30 minutes sittings in my opinion.

My main problem with TWEWY for short sittings is that I like the music.  The DS speakers are pathetic so I need to wear headphones.  And if I'm only going to be playing for a few minutes, getting everything ready seems like too much work.
