It seems like the newest trend in RPGs is to make an all-star cast of characters from various companies. Another example of this would be Cross Edge.

Edit: Oh, and Nippon Ichi is finally making the plunge into 3D. *gasp*

I'm not expecting much from this, as Gust/Nippon Ichi have failed to impress me for a long while now. Maybe if it hits bargain bins near me I'll pick it up.

It's funny, I love megamix games when they're fighting games, but the only RPG one I've seen that has interested me is Namco X Capcom, which is solidly mediocre. Chaos Wars looks interesting solely for the Shadow Hearts characters, but otherwise this genre doesn't usually have the gameplay to keep me interested. Maybe if they had good stories, but mash-ups rarely do.

I know that the localization was TERRIBLE but I don't think that the game itself went beyond lame.

While I'm becoming a fan of Gust, I'm incredibly unethused with the idea of a crossover RPG.  It just seems like a recipe for storyless drivel.  What I've heard about Chaos Wars does nothing to disaffirm that.
