Gold and Silver happens to be my favourite Pokemon generation too.

Was about to create a topic about it. G/S was great, the best generation in my opinion. I hope that the remakes maintain the quality of the originals.

The names are pretty lame though. HeartGold?

Gold and Silver was the pinnacle of the series in my book, and don't get me wrong, it's cool to see a remake, but seriously....just make a new generation. =/

Another vote for G/S as the best gen.

First SaGa 2, now this...I just might die of joy.

In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Since it wasn't too long ago that they remade Red & Green/Blue I have to wonder if they intend to allow players back into Kanto?

DSis don't support GBA games and you can't buy them new in most retailers these days, you'd see it in 3D (for however much THAT'S worth here), and I think it took longer between the remakes than it did between the originals. I think we'll see it.

Even if we can't go back into Kanto, I can live with this game for the rest of my life because Johto is bomb.  Unless they finally stop dicking around with us and include all the regions in one super-mega-awesome game.

This is the only Pokemon game I have been waiting on. I haven't bought one since Ruby/Sapphire and only mildly liked those, but this is awesome. I think Gold/Silver are probably the best in the series.

The main reason why Gold/Silver is my favourite generation is because you can go back to Kanto, and get 8 more badges, with the final battle of Red. Now, that was a treat!

Indeed.  Another part of the reason for me is that Gold was my first pokemon game.  I skipped R/B/Y because I didn't have a Gameboy and the time. It was so good that I also bought Silver and Crystal.  They're all sitting beside my right now on this shelf.  Ah, I love them.  Especially, Crystal.

I am actually motivated to buy this... a first for the Pokemon franchise.

G/S/C was an amazing gen of Pokemon games and I definitely can't wait for these!  I've wanted them to remake them for so long.  I hope they use the Pearl/Diamond style of graphics, that would be great.

Would be nice to have diagonal movement. That would just be revolutionary for the franchise.

Wild Armor, don't speak such nonsense.  That's, like, taboo.

Honestly, the way that the encounter system works (versus other trainers that is) - diagonal movement would actually be impossible without redesigning just about every environment in the game.
