Do we really need a third Lunar: The Silver Star remake? Wouldn't it be much easier to port the Saturn/PSone version and make some minor adjustments?

Yeah, a brand new Lunar would be something but I'll take this as a sign they haven't given up on this series. I'm interested in this, Lunar could use a fresh coat of paint. The GBA version wasn't worth much, IMO.
I wonder though, if we get it here will they be able to use the Working Designs translation?

Agreed. I'd rather see a new one. How many PS1 ports does the PSP have now?
Enough is enough.

This isn't a port. This is yet another remake. That looks way nicer than the PS1/Saturn remake ever did.
I love Lunar to death, so I'm sure I'll buy it yet again.

Actually, a new translation might do it some good, considering some of the awful humour in the game.

As long as Ubisoft don't touch it. I enjoyed the original translations, though.
Nothing wrong with a bit of fourth wall breaking.

I thought it was a nice change, especially poking fun at RPG stereotypes along the way("Why does every RPG have to have at least one worthless drunk?").
For those of you hoping for Gaijinworks to take back what's theirs, don't get your hopes up.
From NeoGAF:

Wow, it would be SUPER cool if Gaijinworks got this. I can't imagine Lunar being properly handled in the hands of anyone else.
Not involved with it. Not against doing it, just not involved. All the rights were sold back to Game Arts years ago. Whether we are involved or not in the localization, I *pray* it's handled well.

I don't really find parody funny.
Ever.
And I take it as a sign of being bereft of GOOD ideas.

I think it really depends on how it's done. I've become more tolerant of it since the time I became disillusioned with Working Designs, but the style of the work makes a difference. Something like the Mother series can do it really well, but Clinton jokes in the not-predominately-humorous fantasy JRPG are just stupid.
Anyways! While a new entry is most preferred, it'd have been fitting if it were a remake of Eternal Blue instead. Remake the original for the GBA, remake the sequel for the following generation (even if it IS the competitor's instead).

Fair enough, though I don't think WD did it very well in Lunar.
And I imagine we'll see a port of Eternal Blue, just as we saw both Star Ocean 1 and 2 released for PSP.

You and Gen are siamese twins aren't you?
But i do concur that parody is usually the refugee of the lazy writter, the good examples are quite rare to find. But when it's well done i don't mind it at all.

The only way I'd buy this particular remake is if they took out the stupid enemy leveling crap from the PSX remake. Otherwise I'm not a big fan of buying a third version of the same game.
