... Wait, why the fuck is this in Console RPGs? Would you mind throwing it over to general? :P

And, yeah. It's not like other companies haven't said stupid shit, but at least Bill Gates decrying the motion sensing controllers is based on a lack of success with his company's own. PCs being made obsolete by PS3s, however, is a load of shit.

I agree.

There was talk about this during the PS2 release and almost all of what Sony promised is false.

Because we all know that the PS3 will allow you to upgrade its RAM and processor when the PCs are zooming ahead at the mid-point of the PS3's life, right?

It's not bullshit that Sony had been working on motion sensing technology since 2003. It is bullshit, however, that PS3's will make PC's obsolete.

What a fucktard.

Wow, I'm glad we all hate Sony so much.

"Stupid" is the worst argumentative comeback I have ever heard.  Retardation.

It has nothing to do with hating Sony. It has to do with the amount of bullshit spewed by this guy.

All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.

Do we still get surprised when execs say this kind of bullshit? Before the launch of every new console there's always these wild, inaccurate and insane statements being thrown around. At least from Microsoft and Sony - Nintendo   usually take a more sane approach, which I commend them for.

I mean, we had Peter Moore saying how playing the Xbox360 would be like a "lucid dream", or Ken Kutaragi stating that the PS3 wouldn't be a game console.

The best idea is probably to just ignore them, and hope that they go away.

Concurred. Like it or not, they did a lot of good with the PSX and generally did a good job with the PS2. And my biggest real complaint outside of stupid PR bullshit like this, is that SCEA's just a bit too anal about quality control. Also the shoddy hardware, but free PS2 repairs help to make up for that.

Also, I'm not surprised at them having designed the motion sensing. But I  still imagine Nintendo had some influence, but... Either way, I'm just glad to see it's catching on, should make things interesting.

Sony: Quick, we need to do something!  Microsoft is becoming the media center of choice for living rooms everywhere!

Microsoft: becoming?

Sony: Oh, shit!  We missed the signs for that one, on account of diverting all our market strategy funds to the congressional orgies fund and Jack Thompson's salary!  M$ must be stopped!

Sony-BMG: Leave it to us.  *evil grin*

Sony: Your rootkits are a child's toy.  We have a better idea.  We're going to switch to Linux, and launch a massive "Get the Facts" campaign to smear Microsoft and invalidate the PC in the minds of the masses!

Microsoft: Um, we have a trademark on "Get the Facts(TM)."

Apple: We sell PCs too!

Sony: Silence!  Er, or we'll send kamikaze at you!

THE PENTAGON: SIR, THEY COULD DO IT.  IT'S HURRICANE SEASON.  GET THE PRESIDENT!

The President of the United States of America: Move FEMA under the Department of Education!  And show me some tits!

Sony: Now that they are in a state of confusion, the people will believe anything.  *evil grin*  Send this over the wire: "The motion detecting controller is a Sony invention, and we shall be diligent in protecting our intellectual property, and in protecting the property of our customers, from themselves.  Also, the PC is irrelevant in this new Millennium.  Signed, Sony Computer Entertainment, Year 2006 of our Goomba, hour of the Kimba."
