Knowing my hatred for all Tri-Ace titles save VP1 and SO2... I'm really going to sit on the sidelines until something grabs me. VP2s battlesystem looked fun in theory, but I'll be honest... I was getting my ass handed to me left and right, and finally gave up. One of the few games I actually have given up on due to difficulty. I consider myself an RPG veteran and have little trouble getting through harder games... VP2 made me want to die. That and the sheer fucked-up pacing.

Demo is cool--I felt pretty extreme while playing it. I imagine this game will be pretty fun based on that, and the fact that the more ridiculous a game is, the more I enjoy it usually.

I played the 360 demo and it seems pretty cool. It seems like you try to set up the best line in order to attack the selected opponent. The longer the line the more attacks you get in.  During a turn you use the X button in order to jump so that you can not only execute aerial attacks but get over objects that are blocking your line of sight. In some cases if you don't jump the object in your way will stop you in your tracks either minimizing the amount of time you have to attack or ending your turn without being able to attack at all. There are some objects you can attack through like walls but most of the time if you don't have a clear shot at the enemy you want be able to shoot them. So make sure to use aerial attacks when necessary.

Me too. I hated it and all about it but one day I've decided to give it another shot and slowly but steadily I've finished it and loved it.

Interestingly, I loved Valkyrie Profile 2. After finishing VP2, I found all the RPGs I've played after that very easy. :P

Good thing this is by the Valkyrie Profile team though, since they've gotten a few things right more or less.

Just downloaded the demo off of both Live and PSN at the same time. :P Giving the 360 demo a go right now, since it finished first. I am pretty fucking impressed with the battles. I love this over-the-top stuff.

Definitely going to pick this up on release. I'll probably pick up the PS3 version since I don't have a lot of games for it right now.

Valkyrie Profile 2 is harder and a bit more complicated than most. Of course, I read walkthroughs to figure battle systems out so the learning curve is a bit easier for me.

Wow, watching the demo on youtube and I have to say this game looks like a must have. I've never seen such wonderfully crazy Gun-fu in an RPG before.

I'm going to quote this should you proclaim RoF to be worse than SO4.

Ninja Edit: Again. >.<

Are you confusing me with someone else? I've never played SO4.
