Number Two's eyes narrowed and became what are known in the Shouting and Killing People trade as cold slits, the idea presumable being to give your opponent the impression that you have lost your glasses or are having difficulty keeping awake. Why this is frightening is an, as yet, unresolved problem.

Okay, so this is evidence, once again, that the Japanese have WAY too much time on their hands, but it's still fucking cool!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz0PaPpmGa8&feature=player_embedded

My favorite section is Mario insanely hopping through the level with arranged/orchestrated music from MegaMan 2 (Dr Wiley) at 6minutes. I also noticed the theme music from Final Fantasy as well as Mario World... can't place the other tunes.

But HOW THE HELL DID THEY DO THIS!!! And more importantly, WHY!!!????

I'm sure it is... but that's the first time I've ever heard of it.

I've seen the insane "hands free" levels like this, but never one put to music.

This is a fad called Automatic Mario whereby they use a hack to set up a level so that Mario is forced through it without (or with minimal) input from the player. Often the creator makes the level to match up with a song's beats.

Old, yeah.
But an amazing achievment in...8-bit sound, I suppose... And just generally knowing what the fuck you're doing.

16-bit sound.

And I went ahead and rewatched. I suppose even being a year old it is worth watching again. Good times!

Fyi I used this video in a class presentation earlier this year.

It went over fairly well.
