I've heard so much whining about it being in 3D lately. Hey, the PS2 ones weren't that bad, I enjoyed them to a certain extent.

Finally, someone with sense.  Curse of Darkness is more enjoyable than 70% of the rest of the games I own.

I enjoyed CoD and LoI, though LoI is a little too RPG light for my tastes.  CoD in particular was quite a lot of fun and did a good job of bringing the Metroidvania style to 3D.

I quite liked LoI, especially the music.Still, it just didn't feel right. the levels felt empty and repetitive, with a lack of scope. Its like no one knows how to translate Castlevania into 3D. What I see in this video is the closest its come to what it should look like(and play) like.

Well, a Castlevania game with bad music is non-existant. Our universe would explode if something like that happen.

Harmony of Dissonance had good music?

Yup, I'd say it had great music. The thing that let it down is the dev's decision to go with old school sound channels, so it all sounds like a garbled mess. But the tunes themselves are pretty good, in my opinion.

I actually was tipped off that one of the spells involves reading out of a magic book and the words "Hideo Kojima" is written all over the screen in different languages and summons a bunch of snakes. I don't get it, but it could be a Medusa attack? Fingers crossed.

Am I the only one who thinks of Shadow of the Colossus when I see this? If it's anything like that game it has to be good, hehe. Looks very promising at least and I'll most definately keep my eye on it. Not quite sure what to expect though seeing as I've never played a Castlevania game before.. but there's a first time for everything :)

Aside the mediocre sound chip that the GBA has, (I will never forgive FFIV Advance's soundtrack downgrade) Harmony of Dissonance had a fine soundtrack.

So, about this being some unrelated game being shoehorned into the Castlevania series? It's the reverse, the fact it was a Castlevania game was hidden to keep from overshadowing Castlevania Judgement!

A lot more information too.

It's good to hear that they're revisiting some old songs.  My main beef with the IGA-helmed games has always been that they rarely acknowledge the great musical history of the series.

I can definitely see why they thought this would overshadow Judgment.  Hell, a pile of ant shit would overshadow that garbage. :P

Liking the soundtrack so far.

Gonna purchase both the game and the OST. If the trailers are any indication then both should be worth it. Next month is gonna be crazy in game purchases.

Hell yeah! This almost upon us isn't it? Oct. 5th right? The trailers look good. I don't have high hopes for the music, though. Expecting generic "hollywoodized" stuff.
My expectations are tempered. I expect it to be a 7 or 8 of a game. We'll see.

I played this at E3 and loved it. Basically it was what I thought Lament of Innocence would be. No comment on the music, since you can't ever hear anything at E3 anyway. Most likely gonna get this when it comes out.
