This has been going on since April.  People have been reading The Watchmen waaaaaaay too much.  Admittedly, though, I think of that old song "Land of Confusion" by Genesis and the line "Superman where are you now?  Where everything's gone blind somehow" speaks to the disillusionment people are feeling.  I understand that desperate times call for desperate measures, but comic book logic only works in comic books.

How about that song "Pets" by Porno For Pyros.  "Will there be another race to come along and take over for us?  Maybe martians could do better than we've done."

As odd as it may be, at least they're doing good things for others, even if in their own quirky way.

If you costume it up as a supervillain though and commit crime or pick fights with the superheroes, that would seem a lot lamer.

I mean a superhero without a villain is really just a sidekick at best.

Legal nightmare is right, but then again everything is already fucked up as it is. I know that comic book companies are going to make money off this...no sane person would pass on this, especially if it becomes a long term trend.
