While I do agree that the current models are a bit large, I think that will change in the future.  They are first generation devices.  I am sure that over time, the companies that will be manufacturing these devices will figure out how to create a smaller form factor.

Given that Samsung is producing UMPC's, I'm betting that the second generation devices will use flash memory for storage. That would be something to get excited about: flash memory is smaller, uses less power, and is read faster.

Flash cards last a REAL long time since there are no moveable parts.  The thing would probably become obsolete before the flash card dies.
