I think we all know Japan for being a bit different, especially when compared with what most of us probably feel is normal.
And I hate standing in the way of what makes people happy.
Personally, I'm not very judgemental, but the amount of times I've seen sexually provocative posed children is enough to make me gag.

I'm for banning, I suppose. Or at least a bit of tact when publishing suggestive work.

Clip from anime Kodomo no Jikan
Its about a grade schooler in love with her teacher.  And with he mind set of your highschool slut.

ADMIN EDIT:  Let's try and find a source that doesn't have tits splayed all across the fucking page, thanks.

Batman motherfu**ing Christ that youtube thing was disturbing.

Okay, seriously though, do people just watch this because they have bizarre sexual fantasies, or do they actually get into the characters and stories and everything?

Dunno about Kodomo no Jikan, but banning loli hentai aint gonna go over well. Firstly because it's more likely cathartic to people with those tendencies, and secondly because the actual causation/correlation thing is like violent videogames = real life violence. Media simply doesn't do that to people.

The fact is, if you wanna abuse little kids, you're gonna do it anyway. It's probably MORE likely to happen if you don't have an outlet in fantasy. And with hentai, no real person is being abused, so it's not like actual child porn where an actual naked child is involved. Sometimes, fantasy can be therapeutic.

I think this kind of moralising is pointless. Removing an object of desire doesn't make a desire less. It often makes it stronger. Morality would be better served by getting actual abusers some help, and providing outreach programs to people who do have pedophiliac tendencies. Closeting such things only makes people feel like criminals and enhances the issue. Letting them talk about it and working to help solve their issues can do a lot more.

Aw. :(  Anyway, I'm not into that sort of thing, but from what I've read apparently in the Japanese context this particular series is not as depraved as it is here (at least not the toned down anime adaptation).  But then again Japanese teachers get into sexual relationships with students all the time and apparently no one cares and groping on the mass transit systems is a borderline epidemic problem.  GG Japan.

I think we would all like to know how you came about/learned/watched this anime for "research."

Say what you will about the American school system... [ insert punchline here. ]

I had to shut that naughty video off after one minute.  That booster shot scene was 371,292 kinds of wrong.  I feel so filthy that I need to take a shower with extra soap.

Ever hear that phrase, "Only in America."  I think it should be "Only in Japan" because Japan seems to come up with the zaniest stuff in the world.

If loli needs to get banned, then beastiality, necrophilia, granny, scat, etc. also needs to banned by that logic. I'm like you, finding that shit disgusting, but if people like it, let them fap to it or whatever they do. As long as I'm not forced to watch that shit, I'm fine with it being around since I don't actively search for it.

Is this even a real ban? I thought it was just a focus group representing a conglomerate of H game makers pledging that they won't make rape games, not something that's legally binding.

If I recall, it was a rating body refusing to give ratings to games or something, so no, it's not a legal ban.

I'm against any form of banning or censorship anyway because it's a slippery slope. Ban this and soon you'll have people banning anything they find mildly offensive to their tastes. A game hints at premarital sex? Ban. A movie features a child killer? Ban. A book has an Israeli as a central character? Ban. Where will it stop, once it has started?

All I can say that it's a cultural thing for Japan.

What Japan considers normal might be weird for the Americans and what Americans consider normal might be weird for the Japanese.

After reading about selling your services as a sensual balloon popper (you don't even have to get nekkid for this) for those who have a 'watch people pop balloons with their butt'philia in an issue of Newsweek I can believe that anything you can name will get at least someone out there creaming their pants.

I hate the stuff, but it isn't going to get banned. Doesn't it have a market on its own?

Morally wrong? You bet your life on it, but there has to be cash flowing in and out of somewhere.

Dunno if you can call it morally wrong when it's fiction. It's morally wrong to take advantage of children, and it's morally wrong to rape someone. Catharsis and fantasy however? Difficult to say. I love Conan books, but they don't compel me to go out and slaughter people, rape their wives, and conquer the world. I also enjoy movies about gladiatorial times, but I have no wish to see one human eviscerate the other in real life.

LOL

The funny thing is that all the characters look and act exactly like how grown women in most other anime act anyway, they're just a bit shorter.
