OK, the BKO thread reminded me of this one.

Sakuraba did his best work on the Baten Kaitos series, IMO.

Chrono Cross - Radical Dreamers
Arc the Lad 2 - That thing whats her face sings.
Persona - Satomi Tadashi Theme aaaaaaaaah
Anything from P3 or TWEWY.
Quote
Minuet - Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song
Yamazaki Masayoshi is the MAN.

I prefer whatever the opening song was in the first DDS, it was much more subdued and far less Japanese-Engrish-y.
It was less engrishy because Etro anime is from New York.

Danger sounds like it wouldn' thave been out of place at all in Unreal Tournament. UT had fucking great music.

Ha, Etro Anime. That name is misleading.
In any case.. yeah, I preferred their DDS song.
What else DOESN'T earn any points as a great RPG vocal track? Ummm, Persona 3 Portable's new song. Bleh.

How dare I! I can't believe I forgot to mention "Reach out to the Truth" from P4. I've been listening to my P4 CD as bedtime music a lot lately (I seem to be listening to it more than P3. Guess P4's soundtrack is really growing on me) and I loved that battle theme from day 1. I've even been trying to cop licks from it on my bass, so if it's as fun for me to play as it is to listen...
Maybe it's recency effect, but good song is good song and one I wish I had a like-minded band that wanted to cover it at shows.

I'm REVIVING this topic back from the dead since between the LAST (2009) post and now (2010), Nier came out. =)
A few others I wanna add...
Nier (bduh)
Chrono Cross - ending theme
Romancing SaGa - ending theme
Persona 3 (eugh, a few tracks, the engrish can really be a turn off when some parts are totally muddied up, I admire the effort though).
Kingdom Hearts II - I loved Passion, sounded unlike anything heard in gaming vocals.
Ar-Tonelico (a number of tracks, too many, and too many weird-named ones to list...Cosmoflips [great title] was great in the latest title though, as well as the opening)
Valkyrie Profile II - I loved the "epic
Latin chanting
" in the
final battle

I love CC's ending... and the KHII song. Though I'm fond of Utada in general, just not her English albums. =P
I found DDS's opening (Danger by Etro Anime) on iTunes and have been listening to it again....

You need the persona music live band dvds. Seriously.

Suteki Da Ne
-orchestral version- without a doubt. The music is just beautiful.
