Well I for one was very saddened to hear this... he really changed the face of the music industry in big ways... and I definitely did not see this coming.

No one did. MJ was only 50. That's young. Plus, he was training with Lou Ferrigno for his comeback.

I thought it would come in a few years, there's been a lot of talk about his health for God knows how long. But I didn't expect it to be THIS soon.
Still, the news made me very sad. I listened to him a lot when I was younger... he was my favorite for a while.

So did he turn into an alien spaceship and fly off? Or touch a shooting star and turn into a giant robot and fly off?
Edit: Nah, he lives on now as Space Michael, fighting intergalactic evil with dance moves.
Blame It On The Boogie is now going to be stuck in my head for the next month, thanks Space Michael!

This makes me a sad panda. I loved his music back when he was still cool.

His $100,000 a month apartment rent was more economical than his lifestyle at Neverland. "They will need every penny to clean up the financial mess left by Jackson, who was famously called 'a millionaire who lived like a billionaire.' By 1999, he was earning $11 million a year but spending $31 million." Math was never my strong suit, but that just isn't a sustainable cost of living.

Actually, I wanted to spam the fuck out of LiveJournal with the video of SC5 part 2 stage 4 earlier, but watching it was just way too awkward. Really cool, but awkward.

Most celebs were never exactly economists or life coaches. For example, if Sharon wasn't managing Ozzy's money and life, he'd be dead, broke, and dead broke decades ago.
So... what were peoples' favorite Jackson songs? I mentioned the Thriller album was awesome, but my favorite song has to be "I Want You Back" by the Jackson Five. It's one of my favorite songs of all time and has my 2nd favorite bassline of all time. Super fun song to play. (aside: my #1 favorite bassline of all time is "Debonair" by Afghan Whigs, but that's neither here nor there.)

Hey! Wait a minute! Now that Mike's gone doesn't that mean that the surviving Beetles can buy back the rights to their songs again?
