So lately I have been replaying Final Fantasy Legend II (Makitoshi SaGa 2~) and loving the snot and fuck out of it. However, now I'm in the final world and fighting Apollo and this mother fucker is a sickass beast forged in the burning realm of Satan's seething asshole. I've been on a huge retro kick lately, and I gotta ask; how the fuck did I ever beat this as a CHILD? I'm fucking 24 years old and I cannot beat The Legend of Zelda on the Wii VC, much less get to the second quest.
This got me thinking about one of those old subjects of "the older they are, they harder they get."
What kind of experiences do other people have of batshit hard games you used to be able to school when you were way younger, and yet these days, you just can't get a god damn thing done?
