Help with PSPs

I'm entering the market to purchase a PSP very soon and wondering which PSP I should I get. Should I aim for the 2000 or 3000?

I'm looking to have the ability to play my PSP on a television that isn't high def. Possible with both PSP? I know I've seen programs for the 2000 but can't seem to find any for the 3000. Cables aren't that much of an issue, I just need to know if the possibility is there with the 3000.

My recollection is that only the 3000 can play games on an SDTV, and a quick web search seems to bear that out.

AFAIK my PSP 2000 can't play games on a composite cable. You can do virtually everything else, but that's pointless.
