Square-Enix,

we don't want a R&B singer like Leona Lewis sing the North-American and European main theme of Final Fantasy XIII.
We want to hear Sayuri Sugawara like in the Japanese version, because Leona Lewis doesn't fit to a fantasy game like Final Fantasy.

Sincerely,

http://www.petitiononline.com/ffxiiimt/petition.html

J-pop in general doesn't fit in it.

More death metal please.

That would be amazing.  As a proposal, I vote that they should replace the current song with this:

...with Sahz, Snow, and some other dude lip syncing it all.  I would buy both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game in support.

The tweets for the Twitter campaign probably outnumber the signatures on the exclusivity petitions.

Square-Enix,

we don't want [to hear crap in] the North-American and European main theme of Final Fantasy XIII.
We want to hear [shit that is good].

Whats next for FF14? Reggeaton!

Also. This. It's fucking amazing to see the assumptions for later songs by people who know it's Leona Lewis. So they pick a brown person and the piano effect that trickles down is rap, reggeaton? Despite just for "lolz," it's annoying. I think people are too much in their comfort levels for "Japanese game, Japanese music," when they experiment with a lot of different sounds over there. 'Tis why I love Masashi Hamauzu. However, picking a song that's going to be on an upcoming CD that sucks despite its musical category is about as creative and heartfelt as a Tony Hawk soundtrack. I haven't played the game - maybe the sucky song'll fit with a sucky game. Who knows. But shit, these R&B/Rap/Raggae/Underground Hip Hop comments I see on plenty of boards I wouldn't have expected, but go figure.

Despite that (and I'm not bashing individuals for saying it - just disappointing), a reggaeton or rap or such intro definitely has the potential to be awesome as any other intro. Hell, Shadow Hearts did fantastic with rock songs and I could still dig it.

I was expecting a jazz-ish theme, because well - Hamauzu. But. . . . Nope.

If they're replacing songs they won't give a fuck about multiple language support. Beyond that though, when interviewed a few months back Kitase was genuinely surprised that people would actually want that feature at all, so you may as well write it off.

I believe its been confirmed that there will only be english. I believe its because they want to you the space on other things such as high reselution FMV with less compression (makes it look better and sharper) rather than another language track which apparently does take up a lot of space.

I don't buy the space argument for a second.  Don't get me wrong, there certainly were cases when that was true in the past.  But when the Xbox 360 verion is supposed to take up 3 DVDs (less that 8GB each even with no redundant information, which seems unlikely) there is no possible way there isn't space on a 50 GB blu-ray.

It's more likely that they want the 360 and PS3 versions to be the same.  Or that, as mentioned, they really are clueless enough to not realize there even are people who would want the Japanese language track.
