Or they realize there's no added value in having the Japanese language track.  They're going out of their way to lip sync the English dub in the pre-rendered footage and in-game cutscenes.  If they were to maintain that level of quality with dual language tracks, there'd have to be redundant video for the pre-rendered footage for each language, in which case there most certainly would be disc space issues.

Well, they could just lip-sync it to English and dub Japanese 'over' it. That's what happened with LO since apparently the Japanese mind it less, and FFXIII looks real enough to have that same excuse. Alternatively, don't bother lip syncing to Japanese and just put the voice track there, you're likely going to be paying attention to the text enough to not notice the lip syncing isn't perfect.

This, of course, is dependent on if the talking animations run exactly the same length.

Or don't bother at all since a lack of Japanese tracks is not going to be a deal breaker for the vast majority of potential customers. Better to spend your time and effort else where.

I resisted watching the TGS trailer and I will do the same with this one. I know I can do it. Only 3 and a half months to go!
