In FFV8 I know it's pretty logarithmic since you gain stats from GFs whereas enemies just straight level up. You end up strong than them anyway (or should).

That would be all well and good if those GF stat ups actually mattered. FFVIII PCs are pretty much entirely unusable without junctioning magic to their stats period (unless you're willing to spend about 1000 hours or so devouring specific enemies for stats).

But back to the update, I'm finally at Dharma in DQVII (which is where my second attempted ended with an overwritten memory card page). Too bad that even with the best equipment tokens can buy from the casino I'm still getting my ass kicked around (and I can expect more of the same thanks to all the wonderful unwinnable fights).

Also an interesting note about Verdham of the past is that there are two dancers in town serving as a reference to DQIV.

SMT tactics were my key to getting past floor 6 of Wizardry:TotFL.  I love bosses where your strongest attack does 30 damage and one of theirs does 100 and poisons and paralyzes you.  Totally fair. :p

Spell stacking ftw.  Now I am on floor 8.

Prince of Persia sucks.  I see why it only cost three bucks.

Still playing LotRO. :P

I swear, the more I think about that game the more disappointed I am with it. I was right to fear that the similar feeling of anticipation for it that I had for Rogue Galaxy also meant inevitable disappointment.

Started Silent Hill, am in the Sebec building in Persona, and am messing around with Deus Ex. Also cleared Bryyo in MP3, but I'm not sure I'll stick through the whole way, it's a good game still but unlike 1 and 2 I don't have the novelty of new controls.

I FINALLY got a new 360 elite so i'm catching up on my xbox shit lately. Mostly demo's but I plan to get into Halo Wars this week and most likely ODST.  Oh, btw, the Brutal Legend demo is pretty good. I'm now convinced it could be awesome..

KillerAmore got me wanting to play DQ7 so I did for a little. I'm, uh, in Probina. Everyone in my party is currently level 19. Yes.

Bought a PSP and too many games for it, so now I've been playing Valkyrie Profile. I'm near the end of Chap 3 and I'm pretty certain which 2 Einherjar I wanna send up. I'm also really digging the atmosphere of the game, kinda a gloomy game so far.

I also played some Dissidia, and so far I like the fighting part of it, but the story mode is soulless fan wank. I had read in one review that the game makes you think more of the characters that weren't included, and I find it to be an apt point. Without the other characters from the games to define the heroes, they're pretty flat. And holy fuck do they say "crystals" and "friends" a lot. But I do like the battling! :D

Beat Lunar 2. The game was fun, though near the end I was practically inundated with constant dialogue about the power of love and the resilience of the human spirit. It all started to feel like a precursor to Grandia III, great gameplay but everyone is just spewing idealistic bullshit. Or maybe I'm just very scornful right now. I'm gonna replay Breath of Fire III and start up Saga Frontier. Later I'll probably jump around to the other games I've started up.

Actually the entire Grandia series is like that. Grandia III's big mistake was getting rid of it's Ryudo.

In the future please try to spell my handle correctly MeshGearFox.

Anyways I'm past Dharma and Greg and I've set my MC as a Warrior, Maribel as a Cleric, and Gabo as a Bard (I probably should've made him into a Shepard but its too late now). Currently bumming around in Past Dune.

I should note that I started Dharma at levels 13, 13, and 7 respectfully. I ended it at levels 15, 15, and 14.

Haven't done too much lately.

Make it to the flower town in Platinum... Still leveling up. I forgot Abra didn't learn any useful moves until after it evolves. I might just trade it and make it an Alakazam since it still continues to learn moves after it evolves again.

Have been instructed to head to my second favorite place in FFXII: The Stilshrine of Miriam. However... I need gold and bad. So I am going to sit and grind around Paramina for a while.

I've been playing random games lately but I can't really find an RPG that really absorbs me.  I want to go back and play a classic turn based RPG, I'm thinking about FF7/8 or Lunar or something.  Any suggestions?  I own tons of PS1 and PS2 rpgs.  I'd prefer something with a good storyline and challenging gameplay but I've pretty much given up on a JRPG having a "good" storyline.

I played through Mass Effect again on Hardcore difficulty with a fresh Adept character.  It was pretty enjoyable, Adept's a bit weak at first but towards the end I was able to disable pretty much anything in my way.  I plan to do a New Game+ with my level 50 soldier on Insanity so I can finish off the last couple achievements I need.

I've been playing Assassin's Creed for the last week, I hadn't touched it since it's initial release in 2007.  I'm 8/9 Assassinations and probably going to finish it up today.  Overall I think this game is highly overrated and the gameplay gets to be very tedious and repetitive to me.  The storyline seems to be mediocre at best, but maybe this last chapter will kick it up a notch.  I suppose back in 2007 this game would deserve the 9.5 average it got, since it does do a pretty good job from a technical aspect.

I've been really bored lately and I need -good- games to play rather then forcing myself to play through mediocre games.  I work at Gamestop and I can rent pretty much any game we have in stock.  I've played most of the super popular games so I can give an educated opinion when people ask about them.  Any suggestions for some under the radar games with great storyline/gameplay would be wonderful.  Any genre, I  don't really have a favorite anymore.

I don't buy that logic given how recent that was and the lack of significant jumps since, even 2006 I could swallow. More significantly there were plenty of reviews that said it was good but not great when it did come out, so it's not like everyone was loving it then either.

I was playing MGS4, thinking it's a bit boring, when it suddenly became all sorts of awesome.
Code:
What the hell are those mechanical creature things? The one reminds me of Doc Oc.  I imagine I will get to fight them all as bosses. Very cool

Now I just wish I could get out of this friggin war zone. Too much brown and grey.
