Any hints as to whether you'll need to play the first in order to "get" the second one? Because I don't have time to play both.

I'm pretty sure they have a completely different story and are barely (or just a bit) tied to each other.

AFAIK, in UC1, you get to know about Sully and get closer to Elena.

If I were you, I'd get Uncharted 2, I hear it's not repetitive unlike the first. :P

You could easily beat the first game in like 7-8 hours. I'd recommend playing it because it's a darn good game.

Just beat Uncharted again, in anticipation of Uncharted 2. Still the best PS3 game I've played to date. I hope Greg Edmonson's score for Uncharted 2 is as awesome as it was for the first game.

Negative. Staying on an overall media/gameplay/whatever blackout on the game. I want to savor every moment of the game when I get it. I've already watched too many trailers and spoiled some material as it is.
