I already own one of the games, i don't have a HDtv, so in other words: no gracias. I do have a feeling we will be seeing more "PS2 HD" compilations in the future. Maybe ICO/Shadow of the Colossus prior to the release of The Last Guardian?

Now THAT would be worth every penny.

I haven't played them at all. :P

I know lots of people on other boards are planning to buy it.
Indeed, just because GoW I and II have been out for a system nearly everyone owns, doesn't mean everyone's played them.

I keep debating whether I'll actually get the collection. Probably will, since I have an HDTV and will want to play them  again before 3 comes out.

GoW III demo included but you need to use the brochure included and download it off the PSN

Probably meant to discourage used sales and people simply borrowing discs to play it (though that in particular isn't going to be a huge hinderance).

Ueda said at TGS that he will be having a meeting this week regarding the chance of a SOTC/ICO compilation. He says he wants it to happen so keep your fingers crossed. I played all these games on the PS2 but would love to play them in HD, specially SOTC and GOW2.

There's not much difference in pics. The real difference is seeing it in motion because now it will be 60 fps, though you can tell that the game looks sharper and the edges are smoother. You wont be able to tell the difference through videos on the net though because those are always at 30 fps.

Nah, I'm pretty sure GoW on the PS2 ran at 60 FPS. You may be right in a different way though: you'll appreciate that resolution jump MUCH more on your TV than in pictures posted on a forum.

Theoretically. Both games had severe frame drops during intense fights dropping as low as 20 fps sometimes. Ironically the same happens with the GOW 3 demo and probably with the final code. These remakes are locked at 60 fps so they will definitely feel a lot smoother than the originals, specially in certain sections where you could really tell the PS2 was being pushed to insane levels because of screen tearing/frame drops.

Fuck I hope not.

Considering how long Last Guardian took, I would rather see them work on something new.

Given how quickly this was put out I really doubt it'd be much of a time sink, especially since these ports were handled by a different team with the main staff serving as consultants on what code is and isn't important. While I understand being jaded about constant ports and remakes the God of War one seems to be one of the most painless out there, and similarly Ico and especially Shadow of the Colossus would probably be cake.

Why not? They can hand out the porting to some other company like what Sony Sta. Monica did with GoW Collections.

Anyway if they did that, people will still be happy. I'd get it also because I never played Ico and Shadow of the Colossus and I know a lot of people want it also.

You also have to keep in mind the effort put into these things, ports of the only two games a team made isn't going to take up so much of their time as to prevent them from making another game. It probably wouldn't even slow down The Last Guardian significantly.

I still think this whole thing is pointless. Like buying the same movie on Blu-Ray that you've owned on dvd for years. It's the SAME movie/game! Sure, it looks a little sharper, but is that really, honestly worth buying again?
I still contend that anyone who wanted to play GoW I & II would have already played them on a PS2. If you, for some bizarre reason, didn't own a PS2, then you probably aren't a gamer. Go home, grandma.
Then we have those who DID play it on a PS2 and for some reason are still interested in this. Must be nice having so much extra time on your hands. All sorts of great games out there, and you want to re-play the GoWs because they might look a little better on an HDtv? Hell, these games looked incredible when they first came out.
so, um, yeah....
*takes a chill pill*

I've never actually played it on my PS2 because my copy was broken.

Besides, I just got into these kinds of games just recently.
