Mixture of in-game and pre-rendered assets. Here's what I broke it down into:
0:22 - 0:34 (Tavern scene): in-game
0:36 - 0:45 (Boat scene): in-game
0:49 - 1:18 (Guild area): pre-rendered
1:19 - 1:31 (Galka/Mithra scene): in-game
1:39 - 1:47 (Battle music kicks in): pre-rendered
1:49 - 1:50 (Battle sequence): in-game
1:52 - 2:00 (The Rest): pre-rendered

Nice breakdown!
You guys can guess what I'm most excited about. That's right, the music! That trailer had awesome music. Glorious return of Uematsu to FF series, yes please!
This is a great trailer. Unless the game sucks, I will be playing it daily.

The first sequence with the in-game tavern made me more excited than anything else in the trailer. Seriously, look at all that animation. It looks... busy. Lively. That's something that's sorely missing from Vana'diel.

The Taru-thing crouched over the table talkin to the Mithra-thing is a great snap-shot from the trailer.

i'm starting to wonder if the game will even have typical armor. though if it doesnt that wouldnt be sad bad since ones equipment led to elitism in ffxi endgame. i just really hope they dont fuse healer and nuker into one class.

They homogenized a lot of armor in WoW and even though it's not a horrible idea for WoW, I'm not sure it would be awesome in other games. I'm in the same thought though. Still interested in hearing more when the release date draws near.

as much as i love me sum FF i just couldn't get into ffxi. while i love the mmo experience i'm more of a solo player (minus dungeons & end game of course) and i guess that's why i liked WoW so much. i could basically do the majority of the game by myself. ie: quests, professions, battlegrounds and what not. ffxi was a completely different xp for me. the controls seems awkward, w/e asking "serious" questions all i got was foreign responses. i only got so far until it bored me. i guess what i'm trying to ask is, will ffxiv be like that of xi?

All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.

So...new update to the site, though it's pretty small (Some new pictures for the armory jobs and a couple weapons to look at).
There is no Ninja or thief-like class. I am disappoint.

Weekly Famitsu magazine clarified that Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 will not come with a access code for FFXIV beta, instead it is a campaign code for Final Fantasy XIV, which can be used to unlock a secret item. Two new jobs have been revealed in FFXIV, they are Gladiator and Pugilist.
