I'd say it's possible to beat the games while being an asshole the entire way through, if you're some kind of tactical genius, in which case you probably suck with women anyway.
This is an astonishing, and entirely true, observation. :)

I kinda assumed that. A well-written love adventure does make you feel bad if you're a jerk to the ladies, but it's just too darn much fun. So no teasing the tsunderes in Sakura Taisen.

Some geeky guys can get women.
Did anyone figure out if the Wii version is 480p?

As for Sakura Wars being in 480p, I haven't heard anything about it.

Soo, I wanted to get the the full (or fullest possible for a non-Japanese speaker) Sakura Wars experience and decided to import the compilation of 1 & 2 for the PSP. I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't found out that there are translation guides for the games. They're the Kayama ones on GameFAQS, which I'm assuming are the most famous and/or most used ones for the games. To anyone who used these guides to make it through 1 & 2, how easy was it? Was it tedious to constantly switch from game screen to translation screen?

Though I haven't played the PSP versions, I don't usually have an issue with switching views between a game and the computer screen. Particularly if it's a portable, since there's less twisting around in a chair for views.

I'm going to be grabbing this tomorrow. I told myself that I wouldn't start another game until I finish post game in Final Fantasy XIII, but this is just too tempting. I've always been really interested in this series and now it's finally here, so I'm going to be devoting most of my time to this, Strange Journey and Yakuza 3.
Side note: Interestingly, IGN gave it a 9

Wow. Go IGN.
I'm not done the game yet, even with an advanced copy. Yes, I do suck at life. My apologies to the faithful readers. I just started chapter 7 (of 8). The review is in the works.
I love this game.

All I needed to know is that the anime bullshit isn't TOO bad to make me several times more confident in this game.

Wow. Go IGN.
While a lot of people tend to make general statements about IGN as a whole, I've read enough of their reviews to notice that the different reviewers have different standards and personalities. Sam Bishop is a reviewer I have tremendous respect for.

I hadn't followed them by name, but I might start now. Thanks for the heads-up.

This is something that everyone should keep in mind, especially since
I
have been getting irate with some of the nonsense going up on IGN's site as of late (See: Splosion Man versus NSMB Wii, and the almost irrtational hatred of random battles I've started seeing).
