Yeah, it's that RPGfan thread that ups post counts while also displaying the ever-changing musical tastes of our members.

My song of the moment is not a song I particularly like, but it's appropriate because it's a "venting" song.  Let's just say when it comes to the music game, Like everyone, trust no one.

Hence, my song is "I Hate Everything About You" by Ugly Kid Joe.  I don't think I need to post the lyrics since, well, you get the idea.

In a huge diversion from what I typically listen to, I've turned to Carpark North for something a bit...different from my norm.

Currently, I'm listening to Carpark North - Human.

First set of lyrics for the new thread...

Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat:

You leave in the morning
With everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform
The wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Mother will never understand
Why you had to leave
But the answers you seek
Will never be found at home
The love that you need
Will never be found at home

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.

Pushed around and kicked around
Always a lonely boy
You were the one
That theyd talk about around town
As they put you down

And as hard as they would try
Theyd hurt to make you cry
But you never cried to them
Just to your soul
No you never cried to them
Just to your soul

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.

Cry , boy, cry...

You leave in the morning
With everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform
The wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.

This song has just been sampled in a dance track here in the UK, but it lost all of the power of the original. Prompted me to dig it out and give it a spin again!

*carrying over from the previous thread, regarding Enjoy the Silence by Lacuna Coil*

...I had no idea it was a cover!

Either way, it's my song of the moment. And, as always, I won't be posting lyrics as I'm far, far too lazy!

Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy

It's just about the only metal epic I can bring myself to listen to anymore.  My attention span is decreasing as my grey hair increases. :P

Standing in the Rain - Billy Talent

Heard it on Much, during their live show. Liked it.

That is all.

Falconer - A Quest For The Crown

For some reason Mathias in the beginning of this song reminds me of the minstrel singing of Sir Robin in the Holy Grail.

Neko Case - John Saw that Number

John saw that number
Way in the middle of the air
Cryin' holy, holy to the Lord

Old John the baptist, old John divine
Frogs and snakes are gonna get John this time
God told the angel "go see about John"
So he flew from the pit with the moon round his waist
Gathered wind in his fists so the stars round his wrists
Cryin' holy, holy to the lord

Read the revelations, you'll find him there
Third chapter, fourth verse where he said unto me
"There's a beast that rose out of the sea"
Ten crowns, ten crowns
On his horns write "blasphemy"
John couldn't read it (John couldn't read it)
Get on repeat it
John couldn't read it
Holy, holy to the Lord

There was a man, a pharisee
Who came by night to meet him
Said "I know thy teacher came from God cause no man can do such miracles
Without the lord to entreat him"
God told the angel "go see about John"
So he flew from the pit with the moon round his waist
Gathered wind in his fists and the stars round his wrists
Cryin' holy, holy to the Lord
Holy, holy to the Lord
Holy, holy to the Lord...

It's a song about Revelations, but in an upbeat alt country sound from a secular artist.

...wtf? I want to hear that!

My song of the moment is something off Dan Swano's album Moontower, can't remember what it's called. Great album though.

Brave, brave Sir Robin!  Sir Robin ran away!

With his head caved in and his guts torn out and his bollocks removed and his throat cut out.

Or...  Something similar.

Anyway, song today is The Dead Shall Dead Remain by Impaled.
