Dincrest: The song is good as a whole but whoever's singing is seriously oversinging. Whoever's doing it needs to stop straining their voice like that.

He sounds like Ben Folds, except out of tempo and without the lyrical wit. It sounds like it's a rough recording, though, so I don't want to sound too harsh.

It's still only a demo, being recorded for free by a friend (who does recording as a hobby.)  Once we get a fanbase, following, and importantly money, then we can invest in some studio time in a good studio with a more qualified engineer and create something killer next time.

Heh, the other song "Isn't It Time" was recorded in a bedroom many moons before I joined the band, and the guy who tracked that song was a complete novice, hence some of the crappy double-tracking near the end.  Their then-bassist didn't even play on that song.

Lo-Fi is always good. Once you guys get more comfortable with recording and playing, the music will be great. I know it. I can't wait to hear more of your stuff. Judging by your musical influences, I should like it.

Thanks Mesh and Merk.  Definitely appreciate your taking the time to listen.  We're actually experimenting with some 50s doo-wop style progressions on some newer songs.

SOTM for now is "Happy Home" by Antigone Rising.  What a radiant band they are.  My folks dig them, my bandmates dig them... and the icing on the cake is the supreme hotness of bassist Jen Zielenbach.  "Happy Home" is my favorite song by them.

I would squeal like an anime schoolgirl on speed if Sullen Door were to ever cross paths and share the stage with Antigone Rising.

Of course I knew I shouldn't love you
So I fought with all the strength in me not to
To force this miles above you
Miles with nothing in between

There's barely anything to leave you now
but memories conjured up in both our minds
I'm so afraid that I might lose them
in the trajectory of time

Chorus:
In this happy home
I am so alone
The picture on the wall of smiling faces says it all

Of course I knew I couldn't love you
but then that would be a fairy tale
So I fell hook line and sink
her
I'm a fool who's suffered well

(chorus)

Bridge:
I'll never know you
Waiting turns to sleep
The only promises I'll make are ones that I can keep

Of course I knew I couldn't love you
Of course I knew I shouldn't love you
Of course...I knew.

Sonic Youth - Incinerate

Their new album is ace. It's different than their others, but it's still pretty awesome. I haven't listened to a lot of their new stuff, but when did Thurston Moore start sounding like Thom Yorke? :P

Schwarzweiß ~Kiri no mukou ni tsunagaru sekai~ from Atelier Iris Grand FANTASM. I love this song, and just looped it for 1hour and 20 minutes during my morning walk without growing tired of it.
