In Fatal Frame 4, you actually do use the remote to aim the flashlight, as well as (to an extent) the camera. You actually need to use the remote to aim flashlight on item's locations before they actually become visible and marked to pick up. Also, as far as I know, there are no fixed camera angles (Except for the times you open a door). And the camera is only really stuck behind you when you are running. When you are walking or standing, you have more control over the camera.

EDIT: Related to the actual topic, I'd say wait for a bit. I don't really think the game is going to disappear anytime soon, by the time you find out it's not going to be released here. Who knows, it might even go Best Price. I know I was glad I waited before importing some titles, for that reason. :P

I have been eagerly awaiting any news about a localization of Tales of Vesperia for the PS3 and so far there have been nothing but rumours.  Do you think this is actually coming?  It would seem like a no-brainer for me since they already localized most of it for the 360 version, but then Namco Bandai does seem to make some strange decisions sometimes.

If it's going to be coming out in English at some point I would prefer to play it in a language I am comfortable with.  But if it isn't...I'd rather play the Japanese version than not play it.  Note that I have not played the 360 version before (I do not have a 360...) and I do have some basic Japanese skills but I'm still far from fluent.  From my experience with the Japanese demo I could understand most of it, and if I was really dedicated I could pause and look up what I didn't understand, but it's a bit of a pain to play like that...actually, that would be pretty good practice so there is an argument for importing ;)

The thing is, I'm actually going to Japan next week so it would make sense to pick up a copy while I'm there.  That's why I'm trying to make a decision now.  It's not like I need the game right now, though, as I have plenty to keep me occupied.

Throwing this back on topic since I was in your shoes a few years ago:

Buy it.  It's a no-brainer.  Spending 60-80 USD really isn't a huge deal considering you're going on a trip anyway.  If you buy the game, I see two scenarios:

1 - You buy the game and it never comes to the US.  You may stumble through it language wise (FAQs are always available for the game regardless) and some of the language subtleties will more than likely not be understood like they were to me.  However the gameplay will still be fun and your Japanese will absolutely improve.

2 - You buy the game and it DOES eventually make its way to the US.  You may have beaten the Japanese version by this time or still may be working your way through it.  When this happened to me, I still wanted to play the US version when it came out.  It's interesting to see the small differences/changes made between versions plus it'll be in your native language (presumably) and the language/character subtleties will be understood.  Assuming the localization was well done (which I have no idea if it was or not in this case), it's interesting to see what parts you did understand and what parts you didn't understand (some sort of walkthrough works well here as well).

I say go for it.  What's the worst that can happen?

Would be nice if Vesperia PS3 came out here, but Bandai Namco are a bunch of bumbling idiots when it comes to good decision making, so...

But North America is used to being hosed, I guess. It's been happening for a loooong time. All those good SFC/SNES RPGs that never got released here, and those that almost got released here (Seiken Densetsu 3 and Dragon Quest VI come to mind), but were stopped dead due to some industry drama.

Some terrorist steal the airplane with the game, and go crash it againts namco bandai's japanese main building, making it disappear, the company is economicaly unstable, and is diassembled, making tales of vesperia's game prices go 500% more

Actually, I forgot to mention it's the PAL version that they've mentioned. It's in the EU ONM. :P

So, has Namco ever offically announced Tales of Graces for North America?

They'd be mad to release something like that in Europe but not America, so either it's a shoe-in or it's Mother 3 again where ONM has it in their magazine, only for it to not surface at all.

SCEA has a policy that any port needs to have a certain percentage of exclusive material to be published, I heard it was 15% new stuff.  That's apparently why we never got Tales of Eternia, Breath of Fire III and the Suikoden I and II package.

They'd be mad to release something like that in Europe but not America, so either it's a shoe-in or it's Mother 3 again where ONM has it in their magazine, only for it to not surface at all.
Hope so. Just looking for reassurance, that's all.

Actually, the Tales of Vesperia has loads of new content. Plus loads of costumes.

I'd say they added 30% more stuff.

Yeah, if Vesperia doesn't come over here SCEA is likely not going to be who to blame.

I. Am. SHOCKED!

Tales of Eternia PSP was released in Europe but not for NA. :P

And I have it! But don't worry, we never got Destiny II.

I second this.

Yeah, if Vesperia doesn't come over here SCEA is likely not going to be who to blame.

Another thing that I second.
