I laughed. It's bad if this is for real, but even then I think I'd find it funny, but it's probably just staged or something. Afterall, something this ridiculous would easily garner ratings.

I don't know which is more sad:

1. The girl being afraid of pickles and mustard.
2. The fact Maury actually aired something like this. I mean, Maury is a pretty sorry show already, but wow, this is just terrible.

Though I can somewhat understand a fear of pickles. I didn't watch enough of the video to hear a possible explanation to this fear but I used to have a fear of my own that was pretty irrational. My parents tell me when I was teething I choked on one of my mother's earrings. For a while when I was little I was afraid of jewelry in all shapes or forms. I didn't know why until my parents told me that story. I'm not even really free from that either because as an "adult" jewelry disgusts me to the point of making me gag.

The only aversion I've had to food was once when I had food poisoning (at least that was what I think it was).  It could have been a stomach bug. Anyways, whenever I see or think about the food I had eaten, I feel like I'm going to vomit.

Also eating apple sauce triggers my gag reflex due to its texture.

You do realize that a phobia has no cause. It is simply an irrational fear of SOMETHING. There are people that are afraid of water. Not oceans, not lakes, but just water.
