Suuure, give me more reasons to pick up a PS3.  Not that I wasn't going to buy one eventually and RoF along with it, but this is really making me crave it sooner.

I don't think it's a PS3 exclusive. Or are you saying that you don't have a HD console yet? Is there a release date for europe? I'm not sure if that March date is US only. March will be fucking insane, I can't buy all those games on release, it's just too damn expensive.

Yes, I lack an HD console at the moment.  PS3 is my choice at the moment due to it having the most games I want to play, though.

Thanks for the rundown on the game so far Akira -- and for the additional details throughout the thread -- because this went from a game that I definitely had on my radar, and that I wanted to get eventually (thanks to its unique concepts, gun play, etc) to one that I really want to play at launch. Consider it pre-ordered.

Well, if you have both then get the PS3 version for 1 disc instead of 3. Its not like the graphics are going to be noticeable different.

Since I got to the 4th disk of FFVIII and realized that most of the sidequests that I had been putting off until the endgame were barred from entry (and the towns that they were in no less).

Since Star Ocean 4 decided to make everyone juggle discs constantly in the post-game. Given that this is also tri-Ace it very well may be all the reason we need.

Although, looking up news stories it looks like Hoshino Kid's right unless that changed recently, which I doubt since they want to avoid disc swapping. But really, when you have both systems and all else is equal then the minor conveniences are the tie breakers.
