Number Two's eyes narrowed and became what are known in the Shouting and Killing People trade as cold slits, the idea presumable being to give your opponent the impression that you have lost your glasses or are having difficulty keeping awake. Why this is frightening is an, as yet, unresolved problem.

Damn man...you have 3 kids and still find time to play RPGs?  I don't even have a girlfriend and still can't find the time to play more than one level in a Mario game.

The state of the RPG in general is in a bit of a rut.

Perhaps I am just in denial.

This might be a fun read for you: http://www.rpgfan.com/features/roundtable2007/index.html Some of the RPGFan staff did a roundtable discussion about JRPGs vs. WRPGs back in '07.  I've linked to it in all 371,292 JRPG vs. WRPG threads on the boards.

That's just from this year, of course. :P  But yeah, even the most ardent turn-based RPG fan would be shortsighted at best to not realize there are issues going on in JRPG land.  And frankly, given how many critical issues there are in FFXIII outside of the aesthetics, it wouldn't really surprise me that someone would prefer Crystal Bearers as a different sort of game style (different does not inherently mean better) to something that's so linear and stuck in conventions that even FFX looks like an expansive Morrowindesque game.  God forbid there be one reviewing site out there that doesn't bash a game.  I mean gosh, we wouldn't want to have a difference of opinion or anything like that.
