Anyone good with IRC and firewalls?

Hey folks, I need your help!

I frequent IRC a lot, as many of you know (I own a server!) and for the past couple of months I'm constantly disconnected by ' [10053] Software caused connection abort' errors. Usually this happens when I idle but I've seen it happen other times too. It happens all three network servers, by the way.

I tried tweaking my router and firewall settings ( I have norton internet security), and setting up a ping-reply timer. Nothing has worked and I'm not quite sure what the problem is. I need help and suggestions! This problem is driving me nuts! :(
