That mouse cursor looks a bit worse than a mouse cursor should, I wouldn't take these too seriously as a quality indicator.

What's up with SE's PR?

The 1st batch of pics were button swaps of the PS3 pics (exact pics, only having different buttons)
The 2nd batch (this one) looks like crap.

Square Enix screwing up the PR on their biggest game release in years is hilarious.  The drama is so delicious.

MS shouldn't be too happy about this.

Why wouldn't they love wasting dozens of millions of dollars on a terrible port? :P And given the whole 25 hours of cinemas bit, short of the PS3 version really sucking, I think that pretty much solidifies which one I'll be picking up.

Dozens of millions of dollars?  I thought the whole MS-paying-off-Squenix thing was just a rumour, but now we know the amount?

They haven't (and won't) mention exactly how much they wasted, but they would have had to pay enough to make breaking the exclusivity fee (which these days means little more than 6 months for high budget games anyway) negligible, making dedicated bundles for FFXIII, prominent advertising at the NBA (can't imagine that was Square advertising when they didn't even mention the PS3 version), and likely future television advertising pushing the 360 version.  Highly speculative on my part, but considering the rumor is that MS funded the whole port to begin with, it's somewhat plausible.

The 2nd batch (this one) looks like crap.

I like how you selected three specific images out of over a hundred, and say "this is what the game looks like." You're so fucking full of shit I want to vomit out of every orifice in my body to cleanse the taint.

Hey guys, want to look at screenshots and say the game looks like crap? I remember a game a lot of people did that with.

Wow guys look at this screenshot this game looks so fucking horrible. I love judging an entire game based on a singular non-moving picture of what is a constantly changing dynamic visual medium. We sure are fucking smart by golly by gee.

Are people so desperate for this game that an entire internet wildfire of drama has spread over the validity of pictures of a game that's already out and being played. I'm pretty sure that when playing a Final Fantasy, you don't sit there and take a thousand fucking pictures and analyze them one at a time. As to why hundreds of thousands of people do this currently is a mystery to me. Modern Warfare 2 was one of the first instances that the advertising budget for a game was more than the game itself. Funnily enough, most of the game's cost was spent on the campaign nobody even plays.

But as Parn said, people will boycott, whine, bitch etc, then go buy it at a midnight release anyway.

In other words, MS used their money just fine. Don't forget, any publicity is good publicity. Especially when it stinks like bullshit.

I'm really tempted to check out the Gamefaqs board for this game right now.  But I have a lot to do tonight and I have a feeling the hilarity of the "OMG WTFLOLOL" would keep me locked into one thing for far, far too long.

Wasted?

Are you stupid? Considering the only bundle in North America is the 360 bundle, and how many units a Final Fantasy moves? Microsoft has not wasted their money.

Don't be stupid.

Wow this game looks like fucking shit I would never play it my games have to have entire Renaissance works of art at 1080p and ten different works in every frame on every character's individual polygons because I will sit there and ANALYZE THE FUCK OUT OF IT TO FILL THE VOID IN MY LIFE ANIME PORNOGRAPHY DOESN'T QUITE SATISFY

BTW, Americans don't have money as it is. The 360 costs less and more people own them as is. All the "hardcore" can talk all they want, though they may forget the scope of "hardcore" means you're the minority and you don't matter.

You are smart. Choosing to spend money on timed-exclusives and buying exclusives is what Microsoft does. I would do that too after their miserable first party offering on the original Xbox. In that regard, they are pretty smart if evil~~~~~~

Yes. Microsoft is evil.

EVIL YOU HEAR ME

Sony is no less "evil". Get out of this god damned thread, away from these boards, and off the internet.
