I think saying the only started caring now is a truly unreasonable statement. They may not have done it well every content update, but it's not like they sat on their thumbs.

I didn't mean frequent updates.  I mainly meant communication.  There's a huge wall of silence between the dev team and the community.  There are no open forum to express issues with the game, they never put up test realms or announce changes except on the broadest of methods "a certain class might get changed sometime in the future".  They never ever say their purpose for anything they do "why did they make PUP, a solo class? Bullshit.", AV was never meant to be beaten? bullshit again.  I'm not saying give the community everything they want, but talk to them, see what they want and work with them, not FFXI's strat "WE ARE GIVING YOU BLUE MONKEY PETS AND REMOVING PROVOKE".
