The reason we didn't get the OG games on PS2 was because of the reason I already stated before. The GBA games didn't sell even remotely well enough for them to consider bringing over the much more content-heavy PS2 versions, and because most of the fanbase were more willing to download the games for free then to pay for them. This was one of the only games that Atlus -ever- admitted to why they weren't bringing it over, and I'm more inclined to believe them then rumors from the internets.
The GBA games didn't sell very well because they were given a day and a night to sell before vanishing into the mists. The reason why I got mine back then was that I had noticed that the OG1 ads were suddenly OG2 ads. I managed to scoop them up along with both Summon Night games and FFVI (and I had to put off getting Yggra Union for three years to get those games). Which brings me to the other reason why they failed which was that they were released at the tail end of the GBA's lifetime, and all the games I've mentioned above were literally last minute additions to the system.
That's why getting The Lord of Elemental near Xmas would be great as the DS is still a prolific system and its successor has yet to see the light of day (versus coming out at the same time that the succeeding system finally hit its stride).
I'm still sad it looks like we won't be getting Growlanser. :(
Dammit Atlus! Do you have something against SRPGs? *ShakesFist*
